Creatine Monohydrate, is the original form of creatine supplementation. It differs from Creatine Ethyl Ester and typically requires you to take more creatine as it has a lower absorption rate. However many body builders still prefer taking Creatine Monohydrate.
Creatine has been shown to increase performance, strength, muscle mass and acute loading has been shown to increase growth hormone secretion.
When taking Creatine mono hydrate it is normal to have a loading phase. The laoding pahse wold typically be 5 to 7 days of 0.3g of Creatine monohydrate per kilogram of body weight per day. Once loading is complete take 3 – 5 grams per day.
Depending on your exercise regime, in normal circumstances you would take Creatine 30 to 60 minutes prior to exercise.
